Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
HARC’s June meeting will focus on racial bias. We will hear about personal experiences with bias here and now in Washington County, leading into small group discussions about bias. Come with an open mind and heart, ready to learn and share! We will also have a time of fellowship and lunch. Please bring your own lunch.
We will meet in person at Church of Christ at Hagerstown’s outdoor pavilion. Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many people to expect and can space tables accordingly.
This meeting will not be streamed to Facebook due to the sensitive nature of the topic and personal sharing.
HARC meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 12:30 pm, except July and August, with an occasional evening meeting. When meeting in-person, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith, giving each member congregation an opportunity to host. If in-person meetings are deemed unsafe for our members, they are held on Zoom.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
