Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
Tom Riford will speak with us at our June meeting about the Thomas Kennedy Center. The Thomas Kennedy Center is dedicated to celebrating Hagerstown-Washington County’s state legislator Thomas Kennedy’s tireless efforts of advancing religious liberty and inclusiveness in 19th Century Maryland; and teaching how his legacy applies today, regardless of differences that might exist among us in race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, color, orientation, and gender.
Join us for lunch, fellowship, and program. Congregation B’Nai Abraham will host our meeting and provide the lunch with a free-will offering basket. Parking is available on the street on in the Library parking lot. Handicap parking is available on the right side of the synagogue. Enter the fellowship room from the back right of the building.
RSVP requested by Friday, June 7 at noon so we can get a count for lunch.
————————————————————————–
HARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for lunch, except July and August, with an occasional evening or weekend meeting. The meeting location typically rotates among different houses of faith or affiliate organizations, giving different congregations and organizations an opportunity to host. Some meetings will be recorded for later viewing, as we are able and the subject allows.
This annual event is FREE and open to the public. A wonderful opportunity to see the interiors of historic downtown Hagerstown houses of worship. Learn about the architecture and ecumenical heritage from docents and guides. Music, refreshments and local art will be featured at some locations.
