Many religious leaders are exhausted, and operating inside of leadership structures that demand over-functioning. Join a book discussion that invites leaders to exercise generosity and power-sharing in their organizations. The newly released book Picking Up the Pieces: Leadership After Empire features Rabbi Elan Babchuck and Rev. Kathi McShane, and explores themes of spiritual entrepreneurship and theologically reflective innovation. Moderated by Shari Oosting, this 90-minute book discussion with the authors is for pastors, faith leaders, students, lay persons, congregational staff, and others serving in leadership positions. Learn more and register. If you can’t make this program, but are interested in a local discussion of this book, contact Kyle Powderly at acts2024@gmail.com.
The HARC Interfaith Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, November 24, was a beautiful event full of unity amid appreciation of our differences. The multi-colored leaves on the bulletin cover illustrated this harmony: "[they] are all alike, yet all different. And they fit perfectly together." You can view the recording on Facebook or it will soon be posted on Benevola UMC's YouTube page. Many thanks to the many participants who made this service amazing, and to Benevola United Methodist Church for hosting this year.
