Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
The Islamic Center of Hagerstown (ICH) is holding a Ramadan Open House, 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, highlighting Islam and its customs.
From 5-6 p.m. guests are invited to spend time in the cultural bazaar (which opens at 1 p.m.), where international clothing, jewelry and other items will be on sale.
At 6 p.m., there will be an informal talk on Islam as a way of life and the meaning and practices of the holy month of Ramadan. Guests are then invited to a traditional “Iftar”, the sunset meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan (approximately 7:15 p.m.). FREE, open to the public and family friendly, but registration by March 22 is requested: helpdesk@myich.org. ICH is located at 122 E. Washington Street, Hagerstown; entrance is at the north side of building adjacent to the parking lot.

This annual event is FREE and open to the public. A wonderful opportunity to see the interiors of historic downtown Hagerstown houses of worship. Learn about the architecture and ecumenical heritage from docents and guides. Music, refreshments and local art will be featured at some locations.
