Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
For the November HARC meeting, we will view the Barna Group’s “Beyond Diversity” 3 short videos, exploring diversity and the Church, followed by small group discussions after each video. The purpose is to get a better understanding of the latest opportunities and challenges impacting racial justice in the faith community. We also hope to provide you tools and opportunities for engagement in this issue to take back to your congregation.
Thanks to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for hosting the meeting in their newly renovated building. Parking is available in the lot across the street from the church.
This will NOT be a lunch meeting, so please eat before you come. Note the time shift to 1:00 to allow for time for you to eat prior to the meeting. Masks are required. We anticipate this being a two hour meeting to allow for ample discussion time. The meeting will not be recorded due to personal sharing in the discussions. Please RSVP to let us know if you plan to attend:

HARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 12:30 pm, except July and August, with an occasional evening meeting. When meeting in-person, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith, giving each member congregation an opportunity to host. If in-person meetings are deemed unsafe for our members, they are held on Zoom.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
