Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
Join us for food, fellowship, gratitude and fun facts about the Baha’i faith at HARC’s May meeting!
During this gathering we will thank and honor dedicated volunteers and a generous donor, who have all enabled HARC to grow in the last two years even with a pandemic:
* Mike Johnston & The God’s Grace Fund
* Rev. Ed Poling
* Rev. Elizabeth Jackson
* Charlotte Trout
* Kelly Conrad
And we will hear from Paula Myers, Baha’i coordinator for Washington County. What is Baha’i? What does this community of faith look like in Washington County and how has it been shaped through HARC’s interfaith work?
For the first time since the start of the pandemic, we will gather for a meal! And so we will allow for a time of fellowship and breaking bread with one another. We are grateful for the opportunity to do this outdoors at Benevola United Methodist Church in their pavilion. A meal will be provided, but please RSVP so we know how many people to expect. We will also live-stream to Facebook and re-post the recording on YouTube after the meeting.
Here is a map to get directions to Benevola UMC. To get to the pavilion, make a right after the church and follow the pavilion signs, turning left into the pavilion parking area. There is plenty of parking and restrooms on site.

HARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, except July and August, with an occasional evening meeting. During COVID our meetings have typically started at 1:00 to give time for lunch prior to the meeting; when it’s safe to eat, the start time is 12:30. When meeting in-person, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith, giving each member congregation an opportunity to host. If in-person meetings are deemed unsafe for our members, they are held on Zoom.
Please join us for this unique service with participation and traditions across different faiths. This service will feature a community choir. If you’d like to participate, please arrive by 2:45 pm. Free and open to the public.
