Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
On Ash Wednesday, February 22, Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect, will host several Ash Wednesday services.
A full Ash Wednesday service in the church will be held at 12:15 & 7:00, with choir at the later service. Holy Communion will be offered at both those services. You may enter the church through the elevator, tower, or breezeway entrances.
Also, at 10:00, 2:00, and 4:00, short services for the imposition of ashes in the lower parking lot will be held. The parking lot is located on the corner of Walnut & Antietam Streets.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
