Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
We spend most of our monthly HARC meetings learning about important programs and initiatives in our community and finding ways the faith community can “plug in” to help, or take information back to our houses of faith and organizations. As valuable as these programs are, they usually leave little time for us to really get to know one another and connect on a deeper level.
So for our March meeting, we decided it was time to simply share a meal together, and enjoy fellowship among faith leaders, affiliate leaders, and others in our network. We hope you’ll join us to catch up with old friends and make new ones!
Join us for lunch, fellowship, and sharing of our host’s faith tradition. Thank you to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for hosting and providing our meal. Contributions toward the meal can be made via a free-will offering basket. RSVP requested by Friday, March 8 at noon so we can get a count for lunch.

HARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for lunch, except July and August, with an occasional evening meeting. When meeting in-person, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith, giving different congregations and organizations an opportunity to host. Some meetings will be recorded for later viewing, as we are able and the subject allows.
The HARC Interfaith Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, November 24, was a beautiful event full of unity amid appreciation of our differences. The multi-colored leaves on the bulletin cover illustrated this harmony: "[they] are all alike, yet all different. And they fit perfectly together." You can view the recording on Facebook or it will soon be posted on Benevola UMC's YouTube page. Many thanks to the many participants who made this service amazing, and to Benevola United Methodist Church for hosting this year.
