The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.

Wise and Compassionate Ways to Help the Poor – A Community Program by OUMC & REACH of Washington County.
Based upon curriculum produced by Rev. Beth Templeton and her 2008 book,
Loving Our Neighbor: A Thoughtful Approach to Helping People in Poverty.
FREE series – of special interest to everyone who has handed out cash and walked away wondering, “Did I just do the right thing? Did I help or hurt someone?”
6:30 pm – Gather and enjoy a snack.
7:00 – 8:15 pm – Series Presentation in Auditorium.
Open to the community. Main point is to assist people of faith in getting a clearer picture of the “face of homelessness and poverty” and how to make wise giving choices to individuals and agencies. Also learn more about area resources and gaps in service.

This annual event is FREE and open to the public. A wonderful opportunity to see the interiors of historic downtown Hagerstown houses of worship. Learn about the architecture and ecumenical heritage from docents and guides. Music, refreshments and local art will be featured at some locations.
