Even during a normal year, the holidays can be hard. So if joyful Christmas worship services feel like too much to bear right now, or if you simply want to participate in a service dedicated to the more difficult parts of this season, please join us First Christian Church for a Longest Night service on Sunday, December 19 at 2pm. We will share our grief and laments, and we will remind ourselves of God’s promises for the heavy-hearted. After all, the Christmas story is all about how God shows up on those long, dark nights.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
