Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
After summer hiatus, HARC meetings resume with a September kick-off. We welcome Chief Paul Kifer of the Hagerstown Police Department to speak with us about new programs and updates, discuss challenges in the city of Hagerstown and answer questions. We also look forward to learning about our host church and hearing a song from students of the Highland View Academy.
Join us for lunch and fellowship, sharing of our host’s faith tradition, followed by the program. Thank you to Highland View Church for hosting the meeting and our meal. Contributions toward the meal can be made via a free-will offering basket. RSVP requested by Friday, September 8 at noon so we can get a count for lunch.
Parking is ample at the church. Entrance is from the main door or side door; there are no steps with the side door entrance.

HARC meetings are typically held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for lunch, except July and August, with an occasional evening meeting. When meeting in-person, the location typically rotates among different houses of faith, giving different congregations and organizations an opportunity to host. Some meetings will be recorded for later viewing, as we are able and the subject allows.
The HARC Interfaith Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, November 24, was a beautiful event full of unity amid appreciation of our differences. The multi-colored leaves on the bulletin cover illustrated this harmony: "[they] are all alike, yet all different. And they fit perfectly together." You can view the recording on Facebook or it will soon be posted on Benevola UMC's YouTube page. Many thanks to the many participants who made this service amazing, and to Benevola United Methodist Church for hosting this year.
