The local Church Women United (CWU) will celebrate World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 3, 2023, 11 AM, at Downsville Church of the Brethren. The church is located at 8228 Dam #4 Road, Williamsport, MD 21795. The program, “I Have Heard About Your Faith” was written by the women of Taiwan. The program will conclude with a sampling of food from Taiwan. No reservations are needed. A free-will offering will be received and used by CWU for grants to help women around the world. Season of Nonviolence and Peacemaking January 30 - April 4
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
