Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect St., is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone to their existing building (9/4/1872) on September 17 & 18. There will be an Open House on 9/17 from 9-12 for anyone who would like to see and learn about their worship space.
On Sunday, 9/18, there will be ONE SERVICE at 9:30 am that will utilize the 1871 Standard Book of Common Prayer, the book in use at the time the cornerstone was laid. Refreshments follow.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
