The Blessing Box built, donated and supported by Girl Scout Troop 47851, is located at 802 Summit Ave. in front of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. The girls built it as an answer to the Global Action Goal to help with poverty, specifically food instability in our local area. They had construction help from Mr. Kevin Sullivan, Mr. Tim Gipe , digging help from Mr. Dave Golden, engineering advice Mr. Niles Daley. The troop leaders are Stephanie and John Budnicki, Elizabeth Alberding and Debra Delaney. The girls are always willing to accept donations to support the box. They ask for non-perishable food only They can be placed in the box if there is room but if not they would like them brought to the church Tues-Friday 9 am-1 pm.
In addition to opening the Blessing Box the girls retired the flag in front of the Church and raised a new one and installed nightime solar powered lighting so that the flag can be respectfully flown 24 hours.
