Hagerstown Area Religious Council
The Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a coalition of churches and houses of faith in the Hagerstown area of Washington County.
The community is invited to join Rev. Penelope Gladwell, Interim Minister of Trinity Reformed UCC, for a reading and book signing on Sunday December 15th. As part of the celebration of Boonsboro Christmas Churches visitors to the church will have an opportunity to listen as the author share several holiday-related passages from Christina’s Gift.
Set in Pittsburgh in the 1980s, this novel is a touching account of how a minister’s death brought loved ones closer to God’s love and grace. Friends of the main character, Christina Andrews, try to make sense of how her life ended by recounting to each other memorable times they spent with her. Gladwell’s work presents an inspiring depiction of the love and wisdom that is only be realized in life-changing moments.
Meet the author in the Social Room, attend the reading at 2:30, and tour the church’s historic sanctuary. Rev. Gladwell’s books will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be served.
The official Season for Nonviolence begins by marking the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 and ends on the April 4 anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Between are 64 days of practice of the principles of Gandhi, King, and others to bring about peace and nonviolence in our world today.
