Potential candidate will work cohesively and collaboratively with the praise team vocalists to lead and create an uplifting worship for Sunday worship, including accompanying Praise Team soloists and congregational hymn singing and preparation of preludes and postludes. CHT Items Need New Home
With the final worship service of Church of the Holy Trinity, UCC scheduled for Sunday, April 24, and the dissolution of CHT, UCC being June 30, 2022, they have been sorting through and coming up with some items needing a new home including:
- Paraments, Altar Cloths: white, green, red, purple, blueA
- Candle Lighters
- Altar Candles (oil) and Advent Candles (oil) (1” diameter)
- Royal Blue Choir Robes with Blue and White Stoles
- File Cabinet of Choral Music
- Four-tray Aluminum Communion Set
- Boehm Nativity Set: “Spirit of Bethlehem”, 16 all-porcelain pieces, with the boxes, and a lighted stable. Price negotiable.
This is just a short list of what’s been identified so far. Between April 24 and June 30, they will be going through the remaining items more thoroughly.

St. Mark’s Blessings Food & Clothes Closet debuts Friday, April 22
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Lappans, debuts ‘St. Mark’s Blessings Food & Clothes Closet’ on Friday, April 22. Hours of operation will be Fridays and Saturdays, 1-4 PM inside our Parish Hall. Items will be available by donations. As clientele increases, hours will be on a daily basis.
St. Mark’s also offers Blessings Boxes, installed several years ago to include canned, boxed, and dry goods, as well as cleaning and toiletry supplies which are supplied by the parish. They originally closed over the winter months due to freezing weather but now remain open 24/7/365. They are found on the front porch of our Parish Hall. No vouchers are needed for proof of need.
St. Mark’s is located on the right at 18313 Lappans Road (considered Boonsboro), just a quarter mile east off of Sharpsburg Pike
Seeking Clergy to Offer Services at Retirement Home
Creekside Manor (formerly Diakon at Robinwood) is seeking clergy to offer services for retirement residents on Sunday afternoons on a rotating basis. Service is typically about 30 minutes. Residents are lonely and desiring clergy presence, so even a once per week service is greatly appreciated. More clergy spreads out the commitment to once/month or less. Moving Interfaith Prayer Vigil held for the Ukrainian People with Call to Action
Sunday, March 6 the faith community and the community at large came together for a public event to pray for peace and safety in Ukraine and stand in solidarity with her people. This one hour program included words of support from faith leaders of different faiths and backgrounds, prayers, song, silence, personal stories, and call to action.
Thank you to our speakers, especially Rev. Volodymyr Grinchenko, who spoke from the heart about his family, who are still living in Ukraine, and the deep impact the invasion is having on his home country. If you watch nothing else of this video, please take time to listen to his words.

The Maryland Department of Health is seeking host sites for vaccine clinics in both the 21740 and 21742 zip codes, which have a large number of unvaccinated residents. They are scheduling first doses as soon as possible and twenty days thereafter for the second dose, at no cost. Salem Reformed Church recently purchased new pew Bibles for their sanctuary and would like to donate their old set (approx 150 Bibles – RSV) to any churches in the area that could use them. St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a part-time Organist/Music Director/20 hours/week). This person works with the Pastor to choose music appropriate for each Sunday worship, including accompanying choirs, soloists and congregational hymn singing and preparation of preludes and postludes. This person will prepare for and accompany the regular weekly and any extra rehearsals for the Church Choir and other choirs, as needed, as well as additional services such as Christmas Eve, Lenten and Holy Week services and Worship Ministry concerts. Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, plus five years of serving on a church staff as organist/pianist/music director. Salary based on education and experience.
