Afghan allies/refugees continue to be settled in Frederick, MD. The faith-based Refugee Welcome Committee (RWC) in Frederick and Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA) are partnering to welcome them and help them get settled. This includes supporting families with housing in Frederick, furnishing their apartment/home, providing transportation, stocking their pantries, and more. All assistance with this monumental task is appreciated! The RWC has a warehouse to store furniture and supplies and financial donations are a great help, in addition to the more hands-on support. HARC Hike
The HARC Hike for Hunger & Hope will be an in-person event (with a virtual option)! The main hike date is set for Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Shepherd's Spring Outdoor Retreat Center with safe social distancing and appropriate COVID protocols. Proceeds will benefit HARC programs, including Micah's Backpack, which continues to provide nutritious food to more than 1,000 food-insecure children in Washington County.
