There is a growing awareness among caregivers from various disciplines of the need to provide holistic care to clients, patients and their family members and to address the determinants of health in the community. Holistic care, however, may consume much of caregivers’ time and attention unless they can function collaboratively
with other caregivers to address the scope and complexity of their clients’ needs.
This symposium provides caregivers with time-saving resources to address the complex needs of clients living with behavioral health, palliative, or hospice diagnoses and their family members. These resources would enable caregivers to provide holistic, interdisciplinary short and long-term care. During this symposium, participants will take away effective tools and time-tested ideas to address the broader communal factors of mental health
diagnoses, particularly as it relates to Adverse Childhood Events (ACE).

The goals of the conference are:
1. To address complex needs of clients living with a behavioral health, palliative, or hospice diagnosis and their family members
2. To understand how spiritual and emotional support is an essential component for providing holistic care to these clients and their family members
3. To learn short-term intervention strategies that fit into the long term care of these clients and their family members
4. To learn how cultivating time with children and adults who have experienced ACE builds resiliency and can greatly improve the overall health of individuals and the community
5. To offer time-saving resources to address the complex needs of these clients in partnership with caregivers from other disciplines
