Sheep visit St. Mark’s for “Shepherd Sunday”

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

Many churches celebrate “Good Shepherd” Sunday on the fourth Sunday of the Easter Season.  The scripture lessons appointed for that day highlight Jesus as our “Good Shepherd.”  St. Mark’s Episcopal Church had a special addition to Good Shepherd Sunday—live sheep at the Church!  Members Renee and Mark Billadeau raise sheep dogs and sheep at Pipedream Farm in Middletown.  They transported a few ewes and lambs which nestled down on the front lawn of the Church, while the shepherds and sheepdogs kept watch.  This “Gospel in Life” lesson was enjoyed by the children, youth and adults who attended church on April 22.
