New Pastor at John Wesley United Methodist Church

Published June 2, 2017

John Wesley United Methodist Church will welcome Reverend Kathleen O’Hern as our new pastor on July 1st. Reverand Patrick Ricker will be  retiring at that time. Pastor O’Hern graduated from SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, NY with a BS in Early Childhood and Special Education and a Masters of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary. Before coming to John Wesley, Pastor O’Hern served as Minister for Discipleship & Mission at Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester New York. In addition to preaching she worked with youth and children’s ministries as well as adult Sunday School and visitation/ pastoral care.

Pastor Katie grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland where her family still resides. She likes to cook, bake, do crafts, run 1/2 marathons and enjoy her golden doodle Monday, who is in training as a therapy dog. Pastor Katie looks forward to getting to know our congregation and the new area in which she will be living and working.

The congregation is very much looking forward to working with their first female senior pastor at John Wesley. They would love to have you stop by on Sunday mornings at 10:00 this summer or 10:30 in the fall to meet Pastor Katie for yourself!
