Christmas Day Community Meal and Delivery

Published December 15, 2018

Christmas Day is quickly approaching when we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and we enjoy time with friends and family.  However in our community there are many individuals that find themselves alone on Christmas Day, many are older and have no family to visit them, or they are not physically able to get out of the place they live.

Together we can make a difference by delivering to those in need  a hot Christmas Meal at lunch time on Christmas Day.  This Christmas Day Meal Delivery Ministry was birthed out of the Community Christmas Day Dinner which started in 1998 so this is the 21st year, of Celebrating Christmas by delivering the Hope and Joy of Christmas in a very practical way. This year there should be about 400 Christmas Meals to deliver and your help can make a difference in someone’s life. The Ministry will also be serving a Christmas Day Lunch at REACH that day for the homeless at 12:30 pm.

If you would like to come and help…just show up and bring a friend…if you can’t come and help in person you can still help by sending your tax-deductible donation to help pay for the food to make this all happen, to Celebration Ministries, PO Box 2976 Hagerstown, MD 21741 (write Christmas Day Dinner in the subject line).

This effort will be facilitated out of the REACH Cold Weather Shelter Kitchen on Christmas Day again like last year. Show up time is about 10 am Christmas Day (8 am if you would like to help finalize the food prep). The REACH Cold Weather Shelter is located at 140 West Franklin Street Hagerstown MD (enter the rear of the building)…email Clarence Horst (CHorst@CMHag.org)  if you have any questions.
