HARC Meeting: Active Shooter & Safety in Houses of Worship

Event Date: October 9, 2018 at 12:30 pm Event Location: Robinwood Medical Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Room 142, Hagerstown

In October, HARC welcomes Officer Gerard Kendle of the Hagerstown Police Department, who will be conducting a training on Active Assailants and review of common security issues within Houses of Worship.  The training is designed for clergy and staff/leaders to better understand and prepare for unexpected threats. Please feel free to invite anyone from your congregation or organization who could benefit from this information.

We expect this to be a 2-hour meeting due to the length of the training.  Lunch will begin at 12:30 pm and program will start at approximately 1:00 pm.

Lunch will be provided with no cost and no offering by the Spiritual Care Services of Meritus Medical Center in honor of Spiritual Care Month.  If you plan to attend, please RSVP by Friday, October 5.  RSVP online or by email to jackcastle48@gmail.com so we can get a head-count (if replying by email, please let us know of any dietary preferences/concerns).  Please know that you are welcome to come even if you forget to RSVP, but the notice does help with food estimates and seating arrangements.

This meeting will be held in room 142 of Robinwood Medical Center.  Recommended to park near and use either the Silver or Blue entrance.

HARC meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month except July and August.  The meeting usually rotates to different houses of faith, giving each an opportunity to host.  Meeting time is at 12:30 p.m. for lunch with occasional evening meetings for special programs.

Clergy and/or lay representatives of any Washington County house of worship or faith-based organization are welcome to attend general HARC meetings and participate in our programs.  Only supporting members are eligible to vote.
