The number of overdose and suicide deaths in the U.S. is at an all-time high. The grief associated with these traumatic losses can have a devastating impact on family members left behind. The developmental age of children impacted by such a loss presents unique challenges for mental health therapists.
This training will discuss current grief theory and provide strategies and techniques for helping bereaved youth navigate the grieving process. Therapists will learn specific age-appropriate approaches to use for helping young clients give voice to their feelings and learn healthy ways to cope and flourish.
